Skaven are one of the cheapest teams in the game and the biggest choices are starting with a Rat Ogre or not and if you should take an Apothecary straight away. There is now an an updated Blood Bowl 2020 Second Season Skaven Starting Rosters article. You might still find it contains some useful information. I know this isn't lore based, but it can still be helpful. This article was written for a previous version of the Blood Bowl rules and has some outdated information in it. Obviously it works best when one of these can be your skin/scale/fur tone (eg green for Ork teams, or black/white/red for Skaven, or really any colour could work for Lizardmen, though blue is traditional) and where a given brown fits on the scale is up to discretion. If I was going with the complementary + neutral method, whichever second colour gets pale would be either black or white, depending on if it's to be light or dark. With the former, I pick colours one off from the opposite of the colour wheel (eg red is opposite green, so blue and yellow), making each match the central colour in one of the types I mentioned earlier but differing on the other.Įxample being if I took Genestealer Purple (pale light violet) as the central colour, I'd want a green and orange to go with it, one would be pale dark (Loren Forest), the other rich light (Fire Dragon Bright). I then decide whether I want to go triadic, or complementary + neutral. Ogryn camo, for instance, is pale and light, whereas Tau Light Ochre is rich and light. I then judge if I think the colour is light or dark, and rich or pale. What I tend to do for colour schemes is starting with the central colour, usually a base or layer paint's colour.
